What is Southeast Asia Love Language?
The Southeast Asia Love Language journey is part of the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism 2025 celebration, highlighting the deep cultural ties and shared heritage of Southeast Asia and India. This campaign aims to highlight how love is expressed through traditions, rituals, and experiences unique to each nation. Through this journey, couples worldwide are invited to explore the magic of Southeast Asia together, immersing themselves in the region’s rich cultural heritage and romantic landscapes.
We are sending Indian influencer couple Anshul Pandey and Priyanka Udhwani on a 40-day expedition to experience the beauty and diversity of all 10 Southeast Asian countries, with each stop lasting 4-5 days. From the bustling streets of Saigon and the ancient history of Bagan to a romantic sunset cruise in Siem Reap, Anshul and Priyanka will immerse themselves in local culture and romantic activities.

A Romantic Journey Through Culture
Each leg of the journey will take Anshul and Priyanka to some of the most iconic locations across Southeast Asia. Let’s take a sneak peek at their itinerary and what they will experience.
Saigon, Viet Nam: The couple’s journey begins in Viet Nam, immersing themselves in local traditions and the charm of everyday life. On their first morning in the hear of Saigon, they wake up early to experience the city like true Saigonese—sipping coffee at bustling street stalls and navigating vibrant outdoor markets. Their adventure continues to the Mekong Delta, exploring lush rice paddies, fruit orchards, and floating markets. Visiting An Khanh hamlet offers them a taste of tradition as they learn to make sticky rice wrapped in coconut leaves, a cherished local delicacy. As the sun begins to set, they end their day with a tranquil sampan cruise through the Delta’s narrow canals, capturing the serene beauty of rural Viet Nam.
Siem Reap, Cambodia: They then travel to Cambodia, stepping into the breathtaking world of Angkor Wat. Arriving before sunrise, they witness the first rays of light casting golden hues over the ancient temple complex, a moment of awe and reflection. The experience deepens with a visit to Wat Damnak, where local monks perform a sacred blessing ceremony, offering prayers for love, happiness, and protection.
The next day, Anshul and Priyanka embark on a countryside journey in a restored American Jeep, a relic from Cambodia’s past. They traverse the rural landscapes en route to Banteay Srei, known for its exquisite pink sandstone carvings. As the sun begins to set, they board a gondola on the ancient moat of Angkor Thom, gliding across the peaceful waters for a romantic sunset cruise, soaking in the golden glow of Cambodia’s mystical past.
Yangon, Myanmar: As their time in Cambodia concludes, they set off for Myanmar, continuing their exploration of Southeast Asia’s most enchanting destinations. Their journey takes them to the ancient city of Bagan, once the capital of Burmese kingdoms, where over 2,200 temples and pagodas still stand as a testament to Myanmar’s rich history. Here, they immerse themselves in the spiritual and cultural essence of the region.
The following day, they embrace a cherished Burmese tradition—donating lunch to monks at a local monastery, a gesture symbolizing blessings for a harmonious married life. After participating in this sacred ceremony, they embark on a cycling tour through Bagan’s breathtaking temple landscape, stopping at Ananda Temple, known for its magnificent Buddha statues, before continuing to Dhamayangyi Pagoda, the largest and best-preserved structure in the area.
Their adventure then leads them to the heart of Yangon, where they will enjoy a sunset cruise along the Yangon River. Then they will visit one of Myanmar’s most sacred and iconic sites—the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. They will be greeted by the golden stupa illuminated by the night sky. As they walk around the stupa, they will take in the serene atmosphere and participate in a quiet moment of reflection.
Vientiane, Lao PDR: Their next stop brings them to the enchanting landscapes of Lao PDR, where they explore the charming capital of Vientiane on a cycling tour, winding through its most historic sites. Their journey continues with a day trip to the breathtaking Nam Ngum Reservoir, a vast, scenic lake surrounded by lush mountains. Here, they embrace in the tranquil beauty of the countryside and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere away from the bustling city.
Chiang Mai, Thailand: From Lao PDR, Anshul and Priyanka journey to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where they experience the city’s vibrant lifestyle. Their visit begins with an unforgettable morning at Patara Elephant Farm, where they participate in the “Elephant Owner for a Morning Session” program. Under the guidance of experienced caretakers, they learn to bond with, feed, and care for these majestic animals in an ethical and intimate experience.
The next day, they embark on a serene village walk at Tamarind Village, immersing themselves in the daily lives of local communities. As the evening approaches, they enjoy a special dinner, savouring the rich flavours of Northern Thai cuisine in an intimate and culturally immersive setting.
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia: The adventure moves to Malaysia, where they explore the vibrant city of Kota Kinabalu. A full-day city tour introduces them to the region’s unique blend of cultures and scenic beauty. The following day, they set off to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, a stunning island cluster where they snorkel and relax in the turquoise waters. As the sun sets, they embark on a romantic sunset dinner cruise, savouring the ocean breeze and the breathtaking colours of the evening sky. To conclude their time in Malaysia, they indulge in a rejuvenating spa experience at Jari-Jari Spa in Kota Kinabalu, an oasis of tranquillity that reflects the traditional healing practices of Borneo.
Singapore: The couple’s next destination is Singapore, where they embark on a customized tour of Sentosa, exploring its vibrant attractions, scenic landscapes, and breathtaking coastal views. The following day, they participate in a city and Gardens by the Bay tour, beginning in Kampong Glam, a district where tradition meets modernity. They pass through Singapore’s Civic District, admiring landmarks like the Padang, Singapore Cricket Club, the historic Parliament House, and the National Gallery Singapore, which occupies the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings.
Cebu, The Philippines: Their journey continues in the Philippines, starting with a Cebu City tour that highlights the region’s rich history. They visit iconic sites such as the Lapu-Lapu Monument, Magellan’s Cross, and Santo Niño Church before indulging in a chocolate experience at Casa de Cacao, where they explore Cebu’s chocolate-making heritage. The next day, they embark on an island-hopping adventure in Moalboal, discovering the pristine waters and marine life that make this destination a paradise for snorkelers and divers.
Brunei Darussalam: The couple then travels to Brunei, where they discover the country’s royal heritage and natural beauty. Their visit includes a tour of the magnificent Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, an architectural masterpiece set on an artificial lagoon. They also explore Kampong Ayer, the world’s largest water village, where they experience local life aboard a traditional wooden boat. The journey continues with an adventure into Ulu Temburong National Park, where they traverse lush rainforests, cross suspension bridges, and enjoy breathtaking canopy views.
Bali, Indonesia: From Brunei, they head to Indonesia, immersing themselves in Bali’s romantic and cultural highlights. They begin in Ubud with a guided culture tour, visiting Mas village to witness local craftsmanship before exploring the ARMA Museum’s impressive Balinese art collection. A walk through the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary offers an up-close encounter with playful, long-tailed macaques. At the same time, a visit to Ubud’s Royal Palace and bustling art market completes the cultural experience.
Their time in Ubud is further enhanced with a luxurious retreat in the countryside. They will indulge in a 60-minute foot bath and massage, followed by an elegant high tea experience amidst nature’s tranquillity. The day concludes with a mesmerizing Balinese dance performance before returning to their hotel.
