While it might be a challenge for locals and travelers alike, taking in the panoramic view of Mindanao at the summit is definitely worth the trek. The mountain is home to 270 different bird species, including the rare Philippine eagle.

The 80-foot deep Hinatuan Enchanted River flows through part of Mindanao. It’s a source of much speculation with no certainty about where the saltwater originates. Local legends surround the river with tales ranging from fairies providing the deep blue color to it being the home of an impossible to catch fish. Wade into the enchanted river at a designated swimming area, immersing yourself in its beauty.

Entalula Island is a picturesque hideaway in El Nido. Against the electric blue water of El Nido Bay, Entalula greets visitors with striking limestone formations and lush foliage, a distinct sign that you’ve arrived at this special oasis. While there, we recommend snorkeling and see the colorful coral reefs and exotic fish that live just offshore. You can also explore some of the limestone cliffs for some low-level rock climbing.

In the town of Sevilla, the bridge was initially built with bamboo but has been reinforced for visitors’ safety. It still swings as you walk, providing quite a thrill as you cross the rushing river. Take a Bohol Habitat Conservation Conservatory tour and discover the numerous indigenous fauna, birds, and bugs that inhabit the island. Other activities include paddleboarding and river cruises. Bohol Island is close to Cebu, providing easy entry by ferry.
