The Tanjung Lesung fully integrated tourism resort area on the west coast of the Banten Province facing Mt.Krakatau in the Sunda Strait, is currently being developed by Jababeka Tbk, gearing up to become a truly international tourist destination. Upon completion, the resort, dubbed as the Paradise of the West Coast, will have the largest Marina in Indonesia with a total of 600 docks, including a corridor for luxury cruises.
Tanjung Lesung is blessed with beautiful beaches and is one of the prime beach destinations in Banten along with the Anyer and Carita beach. The area isearmarked as an international tourist destination and has been continuously developed as a Special Economic Project area since the 1980’s. In its masterplan,Tanjung Lesung is projected to have an airport, more star-rated hotels, and a new direct toll road as soon as it has a total of 2,000 rooms, said CEO of Jababeka, SD Darmono .
“Currently, there are as yet only 200 rooms, so we invite investors to build hotels in Tanjung Lesung” added Darmono during the Exploring Tanjung Lesung Press Conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, 17th December 2014.
All rooms are nornally fully booked during weekends, while on week days rooms are available. SD Darmono suggests that this is an opportunity for event organizers to arrange events, gatherings or meetings in Tanjung Lesung during weekdays. Aside from being less crowded, room rates are also discounted.
Tanjung Lesung is administratively situated in the Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, about 180km from the capital city of Jakarta. The resort can be reached in a little over 4 hours’ drive from Jakarta, however, according to Darmono, the best way to reach Tanjung Lesung is by sea embarking at the port of Ancol or Pantai Indah Kapuk.
“Sea transportation is the best option. Aside from being free from annoying traffic jams, those sailing to Tanjung Lesung can take in the fresh air. Thus passengers feel that they are already on holiday the minute they step on the boat” commented SD Darmono.
There are plentry of activities awaiting in Tanjung Lesung. Here, tourists can enjoy diverse marine sports such as banana boat, glass bottom boat, wake board, kayaking, jetski, and more. Tourists can also enjoy the spectacular sunset on the boat while fishing for that great catch. For couples, Tanjung Lesung also provides the perfect setting and ambience for a perfect honeymoon or pre-wedding photography sessions.
Currently, accommodation options available in the resort are luxurious villas and cottages, such as the Kalica Villa and Beranda Villa that directly face the beautiful beach. For backpackers or those who wish to experience a vacation closer to natuee, there are camping tour packages with accommodation in the Green Coral Tents.
